Upcycling Artwork - By the Sea
Students from two art and design courses at Weston College will display their artwork in an exhibition at Weston Museum. The exhibition will host two shows simultaneously.
One will be dedicated to ‘Upcycled Cinema’, an innovative display of creativity which shows what is possible through the power of recycling.
The first year learners of the Level 3 Extended Diploma were tasked with creating iconic costumes and props from cinema and game using materials sources from the Children’s ScrapStore. It’s set to be a provoking show that demonstrates immense talent whilst shining a light on relevant issues.
The second half of the exhibition is dedicated to the UAL Extended Diploma students. Their show, ‘By the Sea’, contains pieces of art that celebrate Weston-super-Mare and the seaside.
This collection of artwork demonstrates a range of diverse techniques and skills that the learners have been studying during their pre-degree course. Works from this display will be available to purchase, with all proceeds going to Weston Hospicecare.
The exhibition is open to the public from Wednesday 24th April until Sunday 28th April (10am – 5pm)
Make sure you don’t miss out on this extraordinary display of talent from the College’s brilliant young artists.
