College students cater for Children’s Hospice South West dinner

 

Weston College students will get a taste of real-life professional cookery tonight (May 2nd) when they prepare dinner for a major event.

The Level 3 Advanced Cookery students will create a delicious four-course meal for 120 guests at the Children’s Hospice South West annual dinner.

Guests will enjoy a menu of smoked mackerel pate, roasted vegetable roulade, roast lamb cutlets with a red wine jus, roasted vegetable wellington, chocolate torte with berries and mascarpone cream, passion fruit pavlova. Dinner will be followed by cheese and biscuits, tea, coffee and truffles.

This event has taken place at the College’s Grove restaurant for several years, where hospitality and catering students train.

Level 3 Leadership and Supervision students are hosting and serving guests, while performing arts students will provide entertainment.

The dinner will be attended by Eddie Farwell, Children’s Hospice founder, Dr Paul Phillips CBE, Principal and Chief Executive of Weston College, and Len Sweales, Town Crier of Wells.
