Life as a Medical Science Access Student at Weston College
I work at the trust as a Theatre Support Worker supporting the main theatre practitioners in Scrub, Anaesthetics and Recovery, the reason for coming onto the Access course was to gain my UCAS points and to get back into the academic writing so I can progress my career within the theatre setting and to become a registered practitioner.
At the age of 30 I found going back to college daunting and overwhelming but the tutors put you at ease and once you have bonded with your class mates it comes surreal that all you there for the same reason and that puts everyone at ease.
From completing this course I’m now moving onto completing my Operating Theatre Practitioners degree at the University of Gloucester in January 2021.
For anyone wanting to do the Fast Track Access Course just prepare yourselves it is very quick paced and not for the faint hearted but you are very well supported by all the tutors as they want you to succeed and will provide constructive feedback so you improve each time.
