YOU MATTER - Themed Month

The heart of our College is YOU and you MATTER

Throughout all of November and December, our themed month "You Matter" will focus on providing and promoting resources and methods to love yourself, support yourself and protect yourself. 

This themed month will cover topics such as:

  • Sexual harassment
  • Drugs and alcohol
  • Relationships
  • Equality and sex
  • Wellbeing and Connectivity

On our dedicated SharePoint site for learners, you will find links to great resources and videos from Let's Chat, qualified therapists, support sites, links to our college Welfare and the 5 emotion areas where you will find resources and lessons which your tutors may go through with you in I.D. If you do not cover these sessions in I.D. and you want to find out more, you may wish to have a look at these lessons  as they will have some great ideas on how to support yourselves with these emotions.

You'll also have access to our training modules: "DARES". "DARES" is about getting informed about Drugs, Alcohol, Relationships, Equality and Sex/Sexual Health. You will find out about keeping safe around drugs and alcohol, and how to keep healthy relationships. 

What to look out for:

  • Let's Chat sessions
  • Posters all around the college campuses
  • Content and resources on the You Matter SharePoint page
  • Weekly social media posts (Make sure you're following our Facebook, Instagram, Twitter)
  • Range of guest speakers on topics such: Sexual Harassment, Drugs, crime and prison, 'P*rn: What's the big deal?'

So set your self some time to focus on YOU - make yourselves a cup of tea or coffee, get out a pen and paper to write down some top tips and take a look around the our SharePoint page!
