CfE - Bullet Tongue Reloaded
09 March 2021 13:00 – 15:00
The Education and Training Foundation have commissioned The Big House Production company to perform Bullet Tongue which we were lucky enough to have as one of the performances in last year’s Weston College CfE Mental Health Conference. For those of you who missed this you may be interested in seeing it now. This is a hard hitting play about young people being drawn into County Lines and we recommend it.
You can book your place here >> Bullet Tongue Reloaded on 9 March 2021 from 1pm to 3pm
The Big House is an organisation that works with young care leavers who are at risk of the criminal justice system and trains them as actors. The performances are so good, London theatres have picked up some of the young people. There’s an outline of the theme of the show below. We’re doing this as learners with special educational needs and disabilities are getting drawn into County Lines, but the production is relevant to anybody who works with young people, or indeed young people themselves. The places are free of charge and we have capacity for 1,000, so do share amongst your networks.
Bullet Tongue Reloaded is a topical, hard-hitting, powerful and authentic show centred around gang culture and County Lines. Vulnerable children and young people who face adverse childhood experiences, or are in care, are often purposely selected and groomed into trafficking drugs by individuals and criminal organisations with the promise of friendship, status and money. Covid 19 has increased the grip of gangs and the allure county lines. Gangs play on their innate desire to belong. Suitable for people over 14 years old. The performance will conclude with a question and answer session with the young people. Essential viewing for anybody who works with young people.
