Mental Health Awareness Week 2021
Mental Health Awareness Week is the UK’s national week to raise awareness of mental health. The week, which is hosted by the Mental Health Foundation, is in its 21st year and runs from 10-16 May.
This year, the theme for the week is ‘Nature’. Across the country, people will be celebrating the mental health benefits of being around nature in their local community in a range of digital and creative ways. Please share your images/videos/or just sound recordings of the nature on your doorstep (and how this made you feel) on social media using #ConnectWithNature, #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek tagging in Weston College.
Remember, safeguarding, welfare and learning support continues to be available for all students. If your life is at risk, act immediately please:
- Call 999 for an ambulance
- Go straight to A&E, if you can
- Call your local crisis team, if you have their number.
If you can't do this by yourself, ask someone to help you. Mental health emergencies are serious. You're not wasting anyone's time.
You can always access resources and support via the Welfare SharePoint which you can access from the StudentZone, including access to 24/7 support via TogetherAll, Let's Chat resources and much more ...
