You can take your first steps towards employment with this successful and helpful course.

Step is perfect for people who have been inactive in the job market for six months or more. It is designed to help address motivation, self-esteem and mind-set before helping you to develop your job seeking skills to get back into employment.

You will learn about:

  • Managing transitions and adapting to change
  • Motivation and mindset Identifying transferable skills
  • Resilience and assertiveness
  • Budgeting and money management
  • Target setting and working towards personal goals.

This course can really help to improve your confidence if you’re worried about re-entering employment. We can also help you to develop the soft skills that employers look for (such as communications skills, a positive working attitude and teamwork) along with helping you to develop your English, maths and IT skills.

Step is designed to help you progress to further learning or employment, depending on which you feel is the right next step for you. Our staff will support you throughout the course and you will be surrounded by like-minded people also looking to move forward in their job search.

The course is taught over 2.5 days a week for six weeks, and is assessed through activities and workbooks.

Support is available for those who have learning barriers, physical disabilities and mental health difficulties.
