Carpentry and Joinery, Advanced Apprenticeship
What will I do on this course?
The Carpentry and Joinery Level 3 Apprenticeship will help take your on-the-job skills to an advanced level. You’ll work alongside an experienced tradesperson to develop your new skills and attend College one day a week to learn the theoretical side of your trade.
You’ll learn the complex aspects of site work or joinery, including complex roofing geometry and site operations. In addition to the main units, you’ll be assessed on how you operate in a work environment, including maintaining a safe, clean, working environment and communicating with others.
How will I be assessed?
The end-point assessment consists of two key elements. The knowledge assessment consists of 35 questions designed to assess your understanding of the specific knowledge and behavioural requirements, while the a practical assessment is a skills test.
What could I do after this course?
You could become a construction site manager, a carpenter with advanced skills, or you could set up your own carpentry business. You can also increase your skills by applying to join the HNC in Construction and the Built Environment (Construction) at University Centre Weston.
You’ll need to have completed a Level 2 Carpentry and Joinery Apprenticeship and be in relevant employment, but we can help you find this.
