Art and Design: Photography Pathway, UAL Extended Diploma
What will I do on this course?
This Level 3 art and design course is focussed on the photographic arts.
The course focuses on a broad curriculum of experimental briefs, creative and technical skills, professional development and contextual studies, as an introduction to a wide range of cutting edge and historical photographic practices.
You’ll be encouraged to develop independent practice within the photographic arts and to take an approach to photography that encompasses fine art, documentary and commercial practice. You’ll also learn to understand photography and develop a critically reflective approach through experimentation, creativity and risk-taking.
You will be working with the excellent facilities at Loxton Campus – including dark rooms, specialist studios and digital suites.
You’ll also be expected to take gain work experience during the duration of the course.
How will I be assessed?
You’ll be assessed through practical projects and written assignments.
What could I do after this course?
You’ll have the skills to apply for jobs in the photography industry. Or, you could increase your skills with a related foundation degree at University Centre Weston.
Five GCSEs at grade 4/C and above, including English and an art-related subject, plus a strong portfolio of work. You’ll also be asked to attend an interview.
