Hair and Beauty Skills, Extended Certificate

What will I do on this course?

This entry-level hair and beauty course is industry-recognised and will provide you with an introduction to the industry.

You’ll learn to: create your own hair and beauty image; care for your own hands, feet and skin; apply makeup on yourself; paint your own nails; and communicate effectively. You’ll also explore the hair and beauty sector and learn how to blow-drying, finish, shampoo and condition your own hair.

You’ll build on the skills you learn in the College’s real-life commercial salon and gain confidence to progress in the academic year. This course will also develop your English and maths.

How will I be assessed?

We’ll assess your practical work, assignments and projects. You’ll have an online gradebook that you will keep up-to-date and manage targets that your tutor sets you throughout the year.

What could I do after this course?

This course could be your first steps into the hairdressing industry. You could progress to a Level 1 course in Hairdressing or Hair and Beauty, or a traineeship or apprenticeship.
