Beauty Therapy, Advanced Apprenticeship
What will I do on this course?
The Level 3 Beauty Therapy Apprenticeship will provide you with practical skills on the job as well as developing your theoretical skills in Weston College’s commercial salons. You’ll earn a wage and gain valuable work experience while also getting the benefits of being a student.
This course includes all the elements required to work effectively as a beauty therapist including body massage. You’ll cover Indian head massage, massage with pre-blended oils, stone therapy, monitoring procedures in the salon, and electronics. You’ll also learn about anatomy and physiology, health and safety, and client care. We will also develop your English and maths skills as part of this course.
How will I be assessed?
Your personal assessor will visit your salon to review your progress and we’ll assess you in our commercial salon. You’ll be assessed through two online written assessments plus formal practical assessments. You’ll have an online grade book that you will keep up-to date and will manage targets throughout the year. You’ll finish the course with an end-point assessment ensuring you are ready for work.
What could I do after this course?
The majority of our apprentices are kept on by their employer after they finish their course. You’ll also meet the criteria for a number of roles in the beauty industry and could even open you own salon. Or, you could further develop your skills by progressing to the degree in Hair, Make-up and Prosthetics for Production at University Centre Weston.
A related qualification at Level 2, plus English and maths GCSEs at grade 9-4. You’ll also need a job in the industry, but can help you find this.
