Beauty Therapy, Intermediate Apprenticeship
What will I do on this course?
This Level 2 Beauty Therapy apprenticeship provides practical skills on the job as well as developing your theoretical skills in Weston College’s commercial salons. You’ll earn a wage and gain valuable work experience while also getting the benefits of being a student.
You’ll learn the theory and skills you need to gain employment in the industry, along with the professionalism and behaviour expected within the sector. This course will cover eyelash and eyebrow treatments, removing hair using waxing techniques, manicure and pedicure treatments, make-up application, anatomy and physiology. We will also develop your English and maths skills as part of this course.
How will I be assessed?
Your personal assessor will visit your salon to review your progress and we’ll assess you in our commercial salon. You’ll be assessed through two on line written assessments plus formal practical assessments. You’ll have an on-line grade book that you will keep up-to date and will manage targets throughout the year. You’ll finish the course with an end-point assessment ensuring you are ready for work.
What could I do after this course?
The majority of our apprentices are kept on by their employer after they finish their course. You could also apply to be a junior beauty therapist or nail technician. Or, you might choose to develop your skills by progressing to an advanced apprenticeship or a Level 3 course in Beauty Therapy.
Five GCSEs at grade 9-3, and English or maths at grade 4 and above. You’ll also need to be in relevant employment but we can help you find this.
