Civil Engineering (Construction Operations), Intermediate Apprenticeship
What to expect
This civil engineering apprenticeship provides on-the-job experience and skills, as you earn a wage. You'll be employed by a civil engineer or building contractor and work alongside an experienced civil engineer to develop and practice your skills. You'll attend College for one day a week to learn the technical side of civil engineering.
As part of the course, you’ll gain Level 2 qualifications in Construction Operations and Civil Engineering. You also get a head start within the construction industry as you’ll be gaining valuable work experience.
How will I be assessed?
We will assess your practical skills and workplace performance. You’ll also do online tests, assignments and produce a portfolio of evidence.
What could I do after this course?
The majority of our apprentices are kept on by their employer at the end of their course. Many move on to the Level 3 civil engineering apprenticeship.
Four GCSEs at grade 3/D and above, or a Level 1 qualification. You also need to be in relevant employment, but we can help you find this.
