What will I do on this course?

This Level 2 IT course will develop your existing computing and IT skills and knowledge while also helping you explore the many employment opportunities in the sector. This is a employment-related course and you’ll be set a number of projects that are based on realistic workplace situations.

You’ll cover a range of topics, including mobile app development, the internet, multimedia, web and software development, building a personal computer, computing in the workplace and animation and technological systems. This course also includes tutorial support, employability skills and work experience, plus English and maths skills development.

How will I be assessed?

You’ll be assessed through observations of practical work, group work, presentations, coursework, and online exams.

What could I do after this course?

After the course, you’ll be equipped to become an end-user support technician or to work on an IT helpdesk. You could enhance your IT skills by progressing to a Level 3 IT Practitioners course or an apprenticeship at Weston College.


Entry Requirements

You’ll need four GCSEs at grade 3/D or above, or a relevant Level 1 IT qualification.
