What will I do on this course?
This Bricklaying Level 2 course will develop your bricklaying skills and could lead to a successful career in the construction industry. As part of this course you’ll do a week’s work experience within the construction industry.
The course covers a range of topics, including carrying out safe working practices; information, quantities and communicating with others; building methods and construction technology; interpreting working drawings to set out masonry structures; building solid walling; isolated and attached piers; and cavity walling forming masonry structures. You’ll also develop your English and maths skills you’ll need to work in the construction industry.
How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed through practical tests, assignments, a portfolio of work, and online multiple choice tests.
What could I do after this course?
You could become a bricklayer, improver or general builder, and can increase your skills with Weston College’s Bricklaying Diploma at Level 3 or a Trowel Occupations, Advanced Apprenticeship.
Four GCSEs at grade 3-4 or an industry relevant Level 1 qualification. You’ll also be invited to an interview with a member of the course team.
