What will I do on this course?
This course will develop your bricklaying skills to a high level of competency.
You’ll cover topics including safe working practices; information, quantities and communicating with others; building methods and construction technology; carrying out structural and decorative brickwork; and erecting complex masonry structures. We will also work with you to develop the English and maths skills you’ll need to be successful in the construction industry.
How will I be assessed?
You’ll be assessed through practical tests, assignments, a portfolio of work, online multiple choice tests, a work placement log, and a CSCS test. Exams may also form part of this assessment.
What could I do after this course?
This course could unlock the highest-paying bricklaying jobs. You’ll also have the skills you’ll need to be a site manager or set up your own construction business. You could also progress to degree-level course, such as an HNC/HND in Construction and the Built Environment at University Centre Weston or a Trowel Occupations, Advanced Apprenticeship.
A construction qualification at Level 2 or a relevant qualification. You’ll also be asked to attend an interview.
