What will I do on this course?
This Level 1 Carpentry course is the perfect introduction to carpentry and could be your first step into the industry. You’ll cover a range of topics, including how to work safely in the construction industry, building methods and construction technology; basic woodworking joints; using and looking after woodworking hand tools; preparing and using portable power tools; and information, quantities and communication in a construction environment.
You’ll also develop your employability skills through dedicated sessions to teach you the qualities that employers are looking for. We will also work with you to develop your English and maths skills to increase your chances of securing a job in the industry.
How will I be assessed?
You’ll be assessed through practical tests, an assignment, a portfolio of work, and online multiple choice tests.
What could I do after this course?
You could get a job as a carpenter or increase your skills and unlock higher-paying roles by progressing to the Level 2 qualification in carpentry or an apprenticeship.
