Painting and Decorating, City & Guilds
What will I do on this course?
This course will provide you with high level painting and decorating skills and unlock higher-paying roles in the sector. It covers topics including building methods, construction technology, preparing surfaces for decoration, complex paint systems for brush and roller, wallpapering walls and ceilings, and producing specialist finishes for decorative work.
You'll complete one week of work experience in the industry, and your learning will be boosted by tutorial support, employability sessions, personal and social development, and study skills. You’ll also develop the English and maths skills required in the industry.
How will I be assessed?
We’ll assess you through practical tests, assignments, a portfolio of work, and online multiple choice tests.
What could I do after this course?
You could progress to employment or self-employment as a painter and decorator. Or you could increase your skills with a Level 3 qualification in Painting and Decorating or an apprenticeship.
Four GCSEs at grade 2/E to 4/C or an industry relevant Level 1 qualification. You’ll also need to attend an interview.
