Plumbing and Heating, Advanced Apprenticeship
What will I do on this course?
Apprenticeships are a great chance to learn on the job, earn a wage and gain the skills that employers are looking for. You’ll be employed by a plumber or building contractor and work alongside an experienced tradesperson to develop and practice your new skills.
You’ll also attend College for one day a week to learn the technical side of your trade. The apprenticeship covers a range of topics, including health and safety, core plumbing systems, electrical components and control systems, plumbing science and processes and the principles of fossil fuels.
How will I be assessed?
You’ll be assessed through practical skills tests and workplace observations. You will also do online tests, assignments and produce a portfolio of evidence.
What could I do after this course?
Most of our apprentices are kept on by their employers at the end of their course. You can also increase your skills and unlock higher-paid roles by studying Weston College’s Level 3 Diploma in Plumbing.
You’ll need a Level 2 plumbing and heating apprenticeship. You’ll also need to be in relevant employment, but we can help you find this. You’ll also need to be assessed to ensure you can complete the English and maths requirement.
