What will I do on this course?
This course will give you a great insight into careers in a range of civil engineering sectors. These include infrastructure, planning, building and modern building materials. You’ll learn about the structure of the construction industry, sustainability, the use of science and maths in construction, and construction drawing techniques.
As part of this study programme you will develop your maths and English skills, attend tutorials and Individual Development (ID) or Future Academy. You will also complete a work placement or extended industry placement. All aspects of your study programme will be discussed at your interview.
How will I be assessed?
We’ll assess your skills in a number of ways, including written assignments, presentations, projects, live briefs, practical work and time-constrained assessments.
What could I do after this course?
This course could lead to a junior role in the construction industry. You could also unlock higher paying jobs by progressing to a civil engineering apprenticeship or a Level 3 qualification in construction or civil engineering.
A minimum of five GCSEs at grade 9-2 with at least two at grade 4, or a qualifying Level 1 qualification.
