Do you want to learn a trade that could lead to a successful and varied career?

We take electricity for granted, but without qualified people taking care of our electrics, the world as we know it would grind to a halt.

Being an electrician is a varied career that often allows people to be their own boss, work their own hours and earn a lot of money!

Out of all the trades, careers in electrical installation pay the most. In 2015, the average salary for an employed electrician was £30,172 - £,2000 more than plumbers, who rank second in the trades pay scale.

Career opportunities

A qualification in Electrical Installation could provide you with a career for life.

There is shortage of qualified electricians in the UK, particularly in the Bristol and Somerset area where there are massive infrastructure projects which require a lot of building and construction skills. In the West of England the demand for people with construction qualifications will increase by 14% over the next 5 years, and one of the biggest areas of growth is the Electrical Installation sector.

Locally, there are over 12,000 people employed in the industry. In order to replace people in the region who are leaving the industry due to retirement, we have to ensure at least 600 people become qualified electricians every year.
