Facilities Management, Intermediate Apprenticeship
What will I do on this course?
You’ll learn from your employer while you’re at work, and come in to College for a day a week to learn about the technical side of your job. This apprenticeship involves providing a quality and cost effective maintenance and care service for a wide range of commercial and public buildings, such as hotels, hospitals, shopping complexes, or convention centres.
Facilities managers make sure that facilities such as security, catering and cleaning (‘soft services’) and maintenance and building services (‘hard services’) run smoothly, so that customers can run their businesses eficiently.
How will I be assessed?
We will assess your practical skills and observe you at work. Tutors will visit you in your workplace to review your progress and make sure you are on target to get your qualifications.
What could I do after this course?
The majority of our apprentices are kept on by their employer after they finish their course. From this apprenticeship you could progress to our advanced apprenticeship and then the higher level apprenticeship.
There are no other formal qualifications required to start this apprenticeship but you will be assessed to ensure you have the ability to complete the English and maths qualification to at least Level 1. You will need to be in relevant employment, but we can support you to find this.
