What will I do on this course?

This Level 2 Barbering course provides a solid level of basic training and has been designed to cover all the practical skills you’ll need to work in a salon –including cutting, colouring and styling. Your personal skills and confidence will be developed to work effectively and professionally with clients and colleagues.

You’ll develop your knowledge and skills by working in the College’s real-life commercial salon and attending work placements throughout the year. Tutorial support, personal and social development, and English and maths skills are also fundamental elements of this course.

How will I be assessed?

You’ll be assessed through online tests, practical work, assignments and projects. You’ll have an online gradebook that you will keep up-to-date and manage targets throughout the year.

What could I do after this course?

This course could lead to employment as a men’s hairdresser. You could also progress to a Level 2 or 3 course, such as women’s hairdressing, or a hairdressing apprenticeship.

Entry Requirements

Four GCSEs at grade 3/D and above, plus English or maths at grade 4/C and above; or a previous hairdressing qualification.
