All you need to know about course dates and times
Hairdressing, Advanced Apprenticeship
What will I do on this course?
The topics you will study include advanced techniques in creatively cutting hair, creative colouring, creative styling and colour correction. You will also develop interpersonal skills and the professional behaviour expected in a salon environment so you’ll be able to communicate effectively with clients. We will also develop your English and maths skills as part of the course.
How will I be assessed?
Your personal assessor will visit your salon to review your progress and we’ll assess you in our commercial salon. You’ll have an online gradebook that will help you manage targets your assessor sets throughout your apprenticeship.
What could I do after this course?
The majority of apprentices are kept on by their employer after they finish their course. After the course, you’ll meet the criteria for a number of roles in the hairdressing industry and could even open your own salon. You could develop your skills by progressing to the degree in Hair, Make-up and Prosthetics for Production at University Centre Weston.
A hairdressing qualification at Level 2 and a Level 1 functional skills or higher in English and maths. You’ll also need to be in employment in the industry, but we can support you to find this.
