What will I do on this course?
This Level 1 Hairdressing course provides an insight into the industry. You’ll develop your knowledge and practical skills by studying units, which cover: dressing hair, styling hair, professional image, aspects of health and safety, and much more.
You’ll develop your knowledge and skills by working in the College’s real-life commercial salon and attending work placements throughout the year.
Tutorial support, personal and social development, and English and maths skills are also important elements of this course.
How will I be assessed?
You’ll be assessed through online tests, practical work, assignments and projects. You’ll have an online gradebook that you will keep up-to-date and manage targets that your tutor sets you throughout the year.
What could I do after this course?
This course could be your first step into the hairdressing industry. You could progress to a Level 2 course in women’s hairdressing, hair and media or barbering at Weston College, or you could also choose an apprenticeship or traineeship in the hairdressing industry.
