What will I do on this course?

You’ll develop knowledge and understanding of relevant anatomy and physiology and health and safety.

You’ll also develop the skills to consult with clients; provide a range of cutting and colouring services; and set, dress and finish the hair. You’ll also develop communication and customer service skills, awareness of environmental sustainability, and commercial skills, all of which are valued highly by employers. Your problem solving and research skills will also be developed.

  • Health and safety in the salon
  • Hairdressing consultation
  • Hair cutting services
  • Hair colouring services
  • Setting and dressing services
  • Blow-drying and finishing services.

What could I do after this course?

You will be eligible to become a State Registered Hairdresser (SRH) with The Hair Council.

As a senior hairdresser/stylist, you could also progress to employment in:

  • Commercial salons
  • Independent. self-employed, mobile and home-based settings
  • Television, film, theatre and media
  • Armed services
  • HM prisons
  • Cruise liners
  • Hospitals and care homes.
