Women’s Hairdressing, Technical Qualification

What will I do on this course?

This Level 3 hairdressing course provides all the skills you’ll need to work effectively as a senior hairdresser or stylist.

You’ll cover units including health and safety in the salon, hairdressing consultation, hair cutting and colouring, blow drying and finishing. You’ll also develop your knowledge and understanding of relevant anatomy and physiology.

You’ll develop the knowledge, understanding and skills you need to consult with clients and to provide a range services – including cutting and colouring, set, dress and finishing. We’ll also help you improve your communication and customer service skills, awareness of environmental sustainability and commercial skills – all of which are valued highly by employers. Your problem-solving and research skills will also be developed.

How will I be assessed?

You’ll be assessed through online tests, practical work, assignments and projects. You’ll have an online gradebook that you will keep up-to-date and manage targets throughout the year. There are also three written exams.

What could I do after this course?

This qualification will prepare you for employment as a hairdresser, stylist or trainee salon manager. You could also progress onto a specialist Level 4 qualification in hair and beauty or salon management.

Entry Requirements

A related qualification at Level 2, plus English and maths GCSEs at grade 4/C or above.
