Installation/Maintenance Electrician, Advanced Apprenticeship
What will I do on this course?
This apprenticeship will develop your electrical installation skills in the workplace while you earn a wage. You'll be employed by an electrical contractor and work alongside an experienced tradesperson to further develop and practice your new skills. You will attend College for one day a week to learn the technical side of your trade.
This apprenticeship, which includes a Level 3 Electrotechnical qualification, will train you to use a range of electrical installation components. You’ll cover a range of topics, including environmental technologies; the principles of electrical science; fault diagnosis and rectification; inspection, testing and commissioning; and electrical system design. We’ll also work with you to develop your English and maths skills to the required level for the industry.
How will I be assessed?
You’ll be assessed through practical skills tests and workplace observations. You will also complete assignments, produce a portfolio of evidence and take an end point assessment.
What options do I have after successfully completing?
This course could lead to a number of roles in electrical installation. Or, you could enhance your skills with a Foundation Degree in Construction Engineering or further specialist qualifications.
Five GCSEs at grade 4/C and above or a Level 2 course. You’ll also need to be in relevant employment, but we can help you find this.
