Politics, A Level
What will I do on this A Level?
This course will increase your awareness of political processes and give you an insight into the institutions that make our country, and the rest of the world, work. You will start by studying the UK’s political system, eventually moving on to the issues surrounding politics in the US.
This will develop your understanding of both systems and key political issues. You will also study key political ideologies which have formed the basis of political thought over the past few centuries.
It will be essential that you keep up-to-date with current affairs and get involved in lively discussions in class. You will also be given the opportunity to visit the Houses of Parliament, speak to key political figures and engage in work experience within the local political scene.
How will I be assessed?
