Vehicle Component Fitting, IMI Diploma
What will I do on this course?
This study programme will teach you about fitting components and is perfect for people who want to work in the motor industry in the ‘fast fit’ sector. This is a practical and hands-on course delivered in our Automotive Training Centre, with an emphasis on teaching you the skills you’ll need to work in this sector.
You will learn about exhaust components, vehicle batteries, suspension dampers and springs, and breaking systems. The course also includes work experience, tutorial support, employability development, and vocational study skills. We will also work with you to develop your skills in English and maths.
How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed through workshop observations, an e-portfolio and an online multiple-choice questionnaire.
What could I do after this course?
This study programme could lead to a career in the motor vehicle industry, and you could increase your skills with an apprenticeship in the sector.
You’ll need a number of GCSEs at grade 1/G to 3/D, plus a satisfactory reference.
