Production Arts (make-up artist pathway), UAL Extended Diploma
What will I do on this course?
This Level 3 Production Arts course offers opportunities to work the theatre, film, photographic and fashion industry.
You’ll explore and develop your creative abilities in make-up application and design, hairstyling for the creative industries, wig application and styling, full body art, special effects and prosthetics and more.
The course provides opportunities to undertake character transformations for a range of industries (including musicals and high fashion styling for catwalk), under the tuition of highly trained and experienced, professional lecturers.
You’ll learn to maintain a professional attitude when working in this diverse and challenging industry.
This course provides the best chance to progress in your chosen specialist area, whether it’s university, employment or further education.
How will I be assessed?
You’ll be assessed through practical and written assignments.
What could I do after this course?
You could gain a job as a make-up artist in a range of industries, including retail, fashion, film and TV. Or, you could progress to University Centre Weston’s Foundation Degree in Hair, Media and Prosthetics Production.
Five GCSEs at grade 4/C and above, including English and maths, or an equivalent Level 2 qualification. You’ll also be required to attend an interview.
