Sport and Active Leisure, Introductory Diploma
What will I do on this course?
This Level 1 course is the perfect introduction to the sports and active leisure industries.
You will study three core units, two personal skill units and three specialist units. These may include: taking part in sport, managing your health at work, safe learning in the workplace, planning your own fitness programme, working in sport and active leisure, sport and active leisure group project and how the body works.
You’ll be able to get involved in our Sports Academy and enrichment programmes, tutorial support, employability development and study skills. We will also work with you to develop your English and maths skills to the level required to work in the industry.
How will I be assessed?
We’ll assess your practical and written assignments, and will provide you with support to succeed.
What could I do after this course?
This course could be your first step towards a career in the sports and active leisure industry. You could increase your skills and potential by progressing to a Level 2 course in Sport or Public Services at Weston College.
You’ll need two GCSEs at grade 2/E or above, plus a satisfactory reference.
