Trowel Occupations, (Bricklaying), Intermediate Apprenticeship
What will I do on this course?
You’ll be employed by a bricklayer or building contractor and will work alongside an experienced tradesperson to develop and practice your new skills. You’ll also attend College one day a week for support and to learn the technical side of your trade.
You’ll cover topic including cavity walling, solid walling, and health and safety. You’ll be assessed on your work-related skills such as maintaining a safe, clean, working environment, and your ability to communicate.
How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed through practical tests, workplace observations, online tests, assignments and a portfolio.
What could I do after this course?
The Trowel Occupations, Intermediate Apprenticeship could lead to a job as a bricklayer either in the construction industry or self-employed. You can increase your skills with a Level 3 qualification in bricklaying or a Trowel Occupations, Advanced Apprenticeship.
Four GCSEs at grade 3/D or above, or a Level 1 qualification. You’ll also need be in relevant employment, but we can help you find this.
