Julie
Lecturer in Animal Science
Hi everyone, my name is Julie and I have been part of the Weston College team for almost 6 years. We are very fortunate to be based at Puxton Park where we work with the animals, it is a fantastic learning environment.
I have a BSC Hons degree in animal behaviour and welfare and have practical skills in dog grooming. Previously I have helped at my local RSPCA shelter and I also rescue and rehome guinea pigs for a charity in Wales.
I am twitcher (that is someone that enjoys bird watching), although I do love all animals. I grew up with a variety of species - cattle, horses, chickens, fish, dogs, and guinea pigs. Now we only have guinea pigs and two Dachshund puppies called Woody and Buzz.
I teach a range of subjects on the course and I may also be a personal tutor to some of you. Animal behaviour and welfare are my favourite topics however there are so many interesting subjects to study we really are spoilt for choice!
