Virtual Classroom
As part of the West of England Institute of Technology partnership we have a virtual classroom based at the South West Skills Campus in Locking Road. This provides a unique space for remote teaching with the aim to replicate a classroom experience by enhancing the human interaction and connectivity between you, your fellow students and the tutor.
You will be able to take part in polls, questions, feedback with the tutor or join breakout discussions. At any time during the session you can ask questions that are visible to others or as a silent question directly to the tutor. You can also choose which content within the session you want to focus on, including a selection of cameras, the tutor’s content, the collaborative whiteboard, question panel or chat.
As you can see there is a large screen wall, including real-time responses to feedback polls and questions to help with interaction and engagement.
The virtual classroom does not require any software installation, it runs entirely through the web browser, so all you need is a laptop/computer with a web cam and an internet connection.
