Website Design and Software Development, Award
This course is designed for people aged over 19 years and is broken down into 2 elements, an award in programming and an award in website design, this includes the following content areas:
Award in Programming
Learners will learn about the principles of computer programming to understand how programming works. They will develop text-based programming skills to design and develop their own computer program. The following learning outcomes will be covered:
- Understand the principles of programming
- Be able to design a program in response to a client brief
- Be able to develop a program using a text-based programming language
- Be able to test, refine, document and review the program
Award in Website Design
Learners will investigate website design and plan, design and create their own website in response to a client brief. They will test and refine the website against the client brief and review their own performance. The following learning outcomes will be covered:
- Understand website fundamentals
- Be able to design a website for an audience and purpose
- Be able to produce planning documentation for a website in response to a client brief
- Be able to create a website
- Be able to test, review and refine a website for functionality and usability
Assessment method
You will be assessed through practical assignments and portfolio development.
