Dmytro  journey at Weston College is nothing short of inspirational. As the deserving recipient of the ESOL Progress Award, Dmytro epitomises resilience, determination, and a passion for learning that knows no bounds. 

After fleeing Ukraine, Dmytro arrived in the UK with the daunting task of discovering a new country and culture, learning a new language, and acquiring new skills. Dmytro embraced all these challenges with unwavering optimism and a willingness to succeed. His journey from overcoming personal and academic obstacles to becoming an integral part of our Weston College staff team is truly remarkable. 

Despite facing unimaginable adversity due to the Ukraine war, Dmytro's resilience remains unshaken. Having lost everything, he has embraced his new life with courage and grace, dedicating his weekends to supporting fellow refugees from Ukraine at the airport, offering translation services and a comforting presence during their transition. 

Dmytro's dedication to mastering the intricacies of the English language is exemplary. He creates a supportive and inclusive learning environment, uplifting those around him and helps create a sense of community within the College. 

Beyond his academic pursuits, Dmytro's compassion and generosity shine through in his new role as a technician and lecturer in IT programming at the College. Continuously striving for excellence, he eagerly seeks to expand his knowledge and skills to impart the best possible education to his students. 

When asked about his time at Weston College, Dmytro said, “It is like a dream. I am really proud to be a small part of such a wonderful team, such a wonderful establishment.” We are incredibly proud to have Dmytro as part of our team. His story shows that with determination, anything is possible.
