Ali is the recipient of our ESoL Progress Award, presented to recognise his achievements, strength of character and contributions to our college community. Starting as a pre-entry learner, he initially faced challenges with confidence and accessing college. However, his remarkable journey is marked by incredible tenacity and growth. 

As Ali found his stride, he blossomed into an inspirational learner, overcoming personal adversities and uncertainties to thrive academically and personally. His achievements speak volumes, with outstanding performance in external examinations showcasing his dedication to learning. More than academic success, Ali's journey is defined by his warmth, kindness, and unwavering support for his peers. 

Ali's compassion and willingness to help others shine through in his actions, such as assisting an injured learner and providing comfort and guidance in times of need. His selflessness and generosity make him a role model for his classmates. Ali became the heart of the ESoL class.  

Ali's positive engagement extends beyond the classroom though, and he was a great representative for the College. Ali makes a positive impression on everyone he meets, evidenced by the fire service awarding him a staff t-shirt when they visited the College – just one example of the lasting impact he has on those he encounters. 

As Ali continues his educational journey, progressing excellently in his English studies and considering vocational courses for the future, we celebrate his achievements and commend his contributions to our college community. We are privileged to have Ali as part of our course, and he deserves to be celebrated for his remarkable achievements and the positive influence he brings to all those around him.
