Education and Training, Certificate
This is a first-stage teaching qualification which has a teaching practice requirement. The course provides a fundamental understanding of the roles and responsibilities of a teacher or trainer to meet the needs of learners.
You will look in detail at the assessment of learners and the effective use of resources. Awarded by being City & Guilds, this qualification is suitable for those delivering education and training in any learning environment within the further education or skills sector. However, this course is not suitable if you wish to teach children in schools (pre-16).
Prospective learners must be 19 or over, be qualified and experienced in the subject they intend to teach (minimum Level 3) and have access to a minimum of 30 teaching practice hours.
Entry Requirements
- Prospective learners must be 19+
- Acceptance is via an interview to ensure that you understand the course requirements and expectations
- All candidates must be able to evidence an English GCSE Grade C/4. Candidates will be asked to sit a BKSB assessment in Literacy if this cannot be evidenced. Successful candidates will be required to achieve a Level 2 score for this assessment
- Candidates must evidence and have access to 30 hours teaching practice over the duration of the course
- Candidates should be qualified and experienced in the subject they are teaching (minimum Level 3)
