This fully funded Bootcamp is designed to help you gain the essential skills needed for a rewarding career in childcare. Through this program, you’ll have the chance to work in a fun and meaningful setting where you can positively impact children’s lives every day.
Upon completion, you’ll be qualified to pursue roles in various early years environments, such as childminding services, preschools, nurseries, and school reception classes.
You will cover the following in the Bootcamp:
-
Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI)
-
Safeguarding (including health and safety)
-
Learning and Child Development
-
Paediatric First Aid (Qualification)
If you are interested in going down the apprenticeship pathway, by completing this Bootcamp, you will be able to shorten the 18-month Level 3 Educator Apprenticeship by a minimum of 3 months and up to 6 months.
Work Placements
Weston College have a network of Employers across the (WECA) West of England Combined Authority region who are accepting Bootcamp learners to complete their work placements. Work placements will be 2 days per week for up to 6 weeks, this will provide learners with a realistic picture of working in early years settings. This hands-on experience will help learners demonstrate their knowledge, skills, and behaviors.
All learners will require a DBS check, the cost of this will be covered by Weston College and arranged at the beginning of your course.
Upon completing the Bootcamp, we hope the positive impression you make during your work placement will lead to opportunities of employment or even an apprenticeship if that is something you are interested in.
