Making it Work for You
This course has adult work experience roles available in different sectors and will prepare you for one of them. You will also be involved with group mini taster and information sessions and is the perfect stepping stone towards employment.
This exciting course is ideal for people who are on a journey to find what direction they are heading, or have a barrier to employment, such as: lack of motivation, confidence, or self-esteem, have a learning disability, autism, anxiety, health condition, or may not quite be ready for work yet.
You don’t need any prior experience, just a desire to want to make positive changes.
What will I study?
On this course, we explore a wide range of topics through project and work-based learning, that will prepare you for life in the workplace. Topics we cover include:
Introduction to different types of work sectors, job roles and exploring the world of work
Understanding self in an employability context and career planning
Importance of working with others and communicating with customers and colleagues
Working safely, responsible work practice and understanding change in the workplace
Working in a team, communication skills for work and working with customers
You’ll gain 3 qualifications: An E2 Certificate in Preparation for Employment, an E3 Award in Preparation for Work, and a L1 Award in Employability Skills. You will also develop transferable skills, such as - English, digital, social interaction, resilience, and decision making, as well as working on your own personal development to achieve goals. ## Progression Opportunities
