Ben

Ben joined the Engineering faculty as a Level 2 Performing Engineering Operations student from Worle School in 2018. 

Despite some challenges, he passed the Level 2 and progressed onto the Level 3 Engineering Technologies course achieving a Distinction grade. He then progressed onto the Level 3 Extended Diploma in Engineering with excellent attendance overall of 99%, achieving an overall grade of Merit.  

In his final year he took part in the Engineering Employer Interviews which impressed IPECO so much that he secured a Level 3 Composites Technician apprenticeship.  

Ben won Engineering student of the Year at Celebration of Success 2023.

Ben is a shining example of how a young engineer who has additional needs can overcome barriers and effectively progress into the workforce.
