Keira
Keira won the A Level Student of the Year at Celebration of Success 2024 for her outstanding achievements and remarkable journey. Despite facing personal challenges during her first year, Keira displayed extraordinary resilience and determination. Her commitment to academic excellence and an unmatched drive to succeed set her apart as an exemplary student.
Keira completed A Levels in Law, Politics, and Psychology. Reflecting on her choice of A Levels, Keira said, "I had an interest in Law and Politics, so A Levels suited me because I could study multiple subjects and keep my options open." Keira excelled in her studies, demonstrating a strong aptitude for learning.
Keira achieved exceptional success in securing a Level 7 Solicitors apprenticeship. Her determination and skills led her through the competitive selection process, resulting in her acceptance of the position as the sole solicitor apprentice at Simmons and Simmons.
Keira is dedicated to sharing her experiences and encouraging success in others. This passion for giving back is evident when she returns to the College to give talks to A Level classes and offer advice to students applying for apprenticeships.
Reflecting on her time at Weston College, Keira expressed gratitude for the unwavering support she received from the staff, particularly Octavia and Denise, their motivation and support played a pivotal role in Keira's journey, helping her realise her capabilities and intelligence.
Keira's achievements extend beyond the campus, as she engaged in valuable legal work experience, gaining insights into the legal world. This experience significantly contributed to her successful apprenticeship applications, setting her apart in a competitive field.
Currently, Keira is thriving in her Legal Apprenticeship and working towards her goal of qualifying as a solicitor in 2029. Her plans include completing the apprenticeship, gaining diverse legal experiences, and enjoying the independence that comes with her well-deserved success.
As she looks to the future, Keira says, “I am looking forward to the next 6 years of completing the apprenticeship." Keira's success is down to her resilience and dedication. Her positive impact on the College community and her promising future makes Keira a deserving recipient of the A Level Student of the Year award.
