As a pivotal member of the football academy, Oscar has not only represented but also captained the under-18s and 19s teams with flair and dedication. His prowess on the field recently earned him a call-up to the Weston AFC 1st team, where he demonstrated his talent by scoring in a Somerset Cup fixture.
In the Level 3 Sport & Exercise Science and now on University Centre Weston’s Level 4 Community Coaching courses, Oscar found the perfect balance between academic pursuit and sporting passion, with a schedule that allows time for studying and playing. Balancing his work with football demonstrates his determination to succeed in all aspects of his life.
Reflecting on his time here, Oscar emphasises the invaluable lessons in independence and self-discipline that have prepared him for the challenges of the future. "The transferable knowledge and skills I've gained at college work so well for developing life skills, getting jobs, and working up through the ranks."
