APPLY ONLINE & BOOK INTERVIEW
It’s super easy to pop online and apply
We always compare to a bit of online shopping, browse round the courses via subject area in ‘What can I study' Courses for 16-18 year olds’, click on the individual courses to learn more, then once happy with the course, click ‘apply’ at the top of the page to add to your ‘basket’, add as many courses that interest you (we always recommend about 2-3 is a good amount)
then head to your basket on the bottom left and hit ‘apply for this course’, this will then take you through to our application portal where you will need to ‘Create a new account’, follow the steps to do this. Make sure to use an email address (not your school one) you have access to and check regularly and use a phone number you will actually PICK UP! Then once you’re done you can book your interviews, you will receive confirmation emails for these.

COURSE GUIDANCE SESSION AND OFFER OF PLACE
Getting you matched to the right programme to achieve your career goals……
You will be sent an email with details of your course guidance session, which will take place at one of college campuses (A Levels via Teams. This is an opportunity for us to ask you some questions, and for you to ask us some, as well as get a better feel of our college campuses – this all helps make sure we get you on the right programme.
Our course guidance sessions are nothing to panic about! It’s a two-way conversation between yourself and one of the subject tutors, they want to get to know you and you can interview them just as much as they are interviewing you.
This is your chance to ask ALL the questions, regarding timetabling, kit, how many hours a week you’ll be doing what, course content- ANYTHING! They will of course discuss with you things like predicted grades and how you’re doing with your English and Maths, this is so they can gauge what sort of level you might to come into the college at and whether you might need to be put in for any resits, so don’t be alarmed if they start to ask you these things.
They will then give you an ‘offer of place’ to go away with, you will also receive an email confirmation with this in.
×
ACCEPT YOUR OFFER ON APPLICATION PORTAL
Head back onto the Weston College website and click on the ‘applicants’ button at the top....
Or click through using the link given with your ‘Offer of Place’ email, log into the Application Portal using the email and password you used when making your application and ‘accept’ your offer of place.
If you applied for multiple courses, this is a great time now you’ve had your interviews to whittle down which course you think might be the one for you, so feel free to ‘accept’ your favourite and ‘reject’ the others, or if you’re still unsure/torn, you can accept all of your offers and decide later.

Aleksandar Spasov
SU President, Loxton Campus
Hi, I am Aleks Spasov. As someone who was not born in the UK and having moved here, I understand the importance of having a voice. As well as this to be honest I have struggled with mental health in the past and that is why I believe it is important to have a voice to be able to express opinions for the betterment of everyone...
×
Alexandar Spasov Coninuted...
I became Student Union president because I care about crucial issues such as the importance of mental health awareness and being able to express opinions. To do this I plan on fostering better Student-Staff relations and I believe that this will be beneficial to how everyone communicates about mental health and exam stress which are prevalent issues in any educational environment.
If you wish to speak to me about anything or have any suggestions as to what I can do for you or the college, please feel free to contact me.

<p data-pm-slice="1 1 []">Recently, a group of sixth form students joined thousands of pupils across the UK in taking part in the Holocaust Educational Trust’s Lessons from Auschwitz programme, marking a huge milestone for the initiative. With this most recent visit, over 20,000 students and teachers have now participated in the Trust’s transformative educational journey to the site of the former Nazi concentration and death camp, Auschwitz-Birkenau. </p><p>Now in its fourteenth year, <strong>the Lessons from Auschwitz project aims to educate post-16 students and teachers about the Holocaust through a powerful combination of historical context, personal testimony, and direct experience.</strong> The programme is based on the belief that “hearing is not like seeing” and uses immersive, first-hand encounters to bring the reality of the Holocaust to life in ways that classroom learning alone can't. </p><drupal-entity alt=""auschwitz-birkenau building"" data-align="center" data-entity-type="file" data-entity-uuid="0e7bfefc-0765-48fc-9e0d-fd653f20cd0e" data-embed-button="file_browser" data-entity-embed-display="image:image" data-entity-embed-display-settings="{"image_style":"content_wisth_1200","image_link":"","image_loading":{"attribute":"lazy"}}"> </drupal-entity><p>The four-part course begins with an orientation seminar focusing on Jewish life in Europe before the Second World War. This foundation provides context, helping students understand the lively and diverse communities that were devastated by the Holocaust. The seminar also features the testimony of a Holocaust survivor, offering a deeply personal perspective on events that are too often reduced to statistics. </p><p>Following this, students travel to Poland, where they visit the town of Oświęcim—known today as the site of Auschwitz, but once a thriving community in which 58% of the population was Jewish before the war. The visit to the Auschwitz camp introduces participants to the harrowing conditions faced. There, they witness the preserved barracks and haunting displays of seized belongings, including piles of shoes, suitcases, glasses, and human hair. These serve as a stark reminder of the individuals behind the numbers. </p><drupal-entity alt=""students listening to a talk at auschwitz-birkenau"" data-align="center" data-entity-type="file" data-entity-uuid="b15e44f9-3f08-4ac9-8cc1-cfaf7cb3440b" data-embed-button="file_browser" data-entity-embed-display="image:image" data-entity-embed-display-settings="{"image_style":"content_wisth_1200","image_link":"","image_loading":{"attribute":"lazy"}}"> </drupal-entity><p>The visit continues at Auschwitz-Birkenau, the main site of the mass killings. Students walk through the infamous railway gates, stand on the ramp where selections were made, and visit the ruins of the gas chambers and crematorium. The day ends with a candle-lighting ceremony and a period of quiet reflection, honouring the memory of the millions who were unjustly killed. </p><p>Our A Level History lecturer, Katie Moran, who accompanied four students on this recent trip described the experience as “emotional and sobering.” She added: </p><p>“Walking through the gates of Auschwitz, standing on the ground where over a million lives were taken, and witnessing the remains of Birkenau was an emotional and sobering experience that words can barely capture. Seeing the piles of shoes, suitcases, and hair made the scale of the Holocaust feel devastatingly real. It was a stark reminder of the human stories behind the statistics we often teach in the classroom.” </p><p>The students showed maturity and empathy. For them, the visit was not only about understanding the past but also about learning the responsibility that comes with remembrance. By confronting the atrocities of the Holocaust, they are now better equipped to challenge antisemitism, racism, and all forms of hatred in today’s world. </p><p>Interested in our <a class="ProsemirrorEditor-link" href="https://www.weston.ac.uk/what-can-i-study/courses-16-18-year-olds/level… Level History course</u></a>? <p style="margin-bottom:16px;margin-left:0;margin-top:16px;"><span style="font-size:inherit;">This year’s Raising and Giving Week (<strong>RAG Week</strong>) at Weston College was a great example of collaboration across all subject areas.
