Level 6
Chartered Legal Executive, Apprenticeship
The Chartered Legal Executive apprenticeship includes the three CILEx Professional Qualification (CPQ) stages – The Foundation, Advanced and Professional stages.
It is available for employees in legal assistant, paralegal and case handler roles, who seek to gain legal knowledge and qualification and progress to become Chartered Legal Executives.
It is best suited to those in these roles who have already completed a legal qualification, such as the Paralegal Apprenticeship, a Law Degree or the Foundation Stage of the CPQ. Those who are not yet in legal roles or have not yet achieved a legal qualification should instead complete the Paralegal Apprenticeship.
Throughout the apprenticeship, you will work closely with experienced professionals, assisting with legal research, document preparation, and general support tasks in law firms or legal departments. You will develop essential skills such as critical thinking, communication, and organisation, which are crucial for success in the legal field. On completion of this apprenticeship, you will be ready for a rewarding career as a Chartered Legal Executive.
An apprenticeship provides a unique opportunity to acquire industry-specific qualifications and valuable hands-on experience while earning a salary. You’ll have the chance to work closely with experienced practitioners in the legal profession, meaning you’ll gain practical skills that make you highly employable and give you a head start in your career.
When you study with us you will automatically join our Business Career Excellence Hub, which is endorsed by leading employers who are actively involved throughout your whole training programme. Through guest lectures, seminars, webinars, work experience and recruitment events, you will have unrivalled access to networking opportunities. We have strong links with the Bristol Law Society, and high achieving students are recognised at the annual Bristol Law Society Awards.
You’ll study in purpose-built classrooms, designed to enhance your learning experience, and you’ll benefit from a wide range of facilities including our new boardroom and business suite. Your mentors will be experienced tutors and assessors who have worked in reputable firms and run their own businesses. They will guide you through your study programme and placement, and ensure you’re fully prepared for your next steps after college.
