Level 1
Civil Service Swap
Have you thought about working for the Civil Service?
Throughout this programme you will gain a better understanding of careers in the Civil Service, the work of the Department of Work and Pensions and the roles currently available. The intention of the program is to develop your skills and knowledge around the Civil Service application process, and to increase confidence for applying for roles when they become available.
What will I study?
You will study qualifications in Employability skills, Work Preparation and Cybersecurity in the workplace. These are all key areas that support the role of most Civil Service careers and many other jobs in different sectors.
Over the two weeks you will have a chance to find out about the different departments within the Civil Service and the job roles within these, and have an opportunity to assess your own skills, strengths and reflect on the importance of professional work practice.
You will also be guided through what is expected when applying for Civil Service roles. This includes gaining a full understanding of the 3-stage application process, opportunity to complete practice tests, interview practice, and understand and utilise the STAR technique answering questions about the Civil Service behaviours.
Progression Opportunities
Depending on your chosen path in the Civil Service additional training may be available on completion of this course.
