Counselling Skills, Diploma
This course will provide you with the practical and theoretical skills to develop your career in counselling. The Level 3 Diploma in Counselling prepares you for Degree study looking at referencing, presentations and essay writing. The course expands on the different approaches of Counselling and strengthens your communication skills which could benefit you in any profession or level, from an entry level position right up to management.
This Counselling Diploma will build on the knowledge, skills and techniques covered in the level 2 course. It will enhance your understanding of the range of counselling approaches including Person-centred, CBT and Psychodynamic. This course will continue to investigate the techniques used within the core approaches and will continue to highlight the importance of Counselling Skills and self- reflection.

Entry Requirements
You must have attended the level 2 counselling course to join this AND have some experience of triad work. If you have a level 2 counselling qualification through NCFE already you can enrol onto level 3 without experience of Triad work. You must be at least a year substance free.
You must have conversational English and written ability. Computers are used throughout this course and assignments must be typed. There are no formal English and Maths qualification entry requirements, but they are encouraged.
Assessment Method
Within this course you will complete weekly journals, professional discussions, referenced essays and presentations. Alongside practical assessments.

You will be provided with a list of helpful literature to support you through your course. It is recommended that you purchase ‘Next Steps in Counselling by Pete Sanders’. This book is available in our library and readily available to purchase second hand.
