Preparing for Self-Employment
This virtual course delivered through Microsoft Teams is an introductory programme designed to inform and support those who are considering starting their own business.
Within this 1 week starter programme you will:

have the opportunity to action plan and look at Self Employment opportunities in a given sector

learn the type of entrepreneurial skills required to sell your business

gain marketing and promotion skills and the importance of digital marketing

gain finance and business skills required to take your original concept and turn it into a profit and viable business

explore income and expenditure and record keeping requirements

learn general business accounting including cash flow forecasting, profit and loss
Assessment Methods:
There will be a series of written tasks, assignments and activities throughout the course
Attendance Requirements:
The course is delivered using Virtual attendance via Teams for 5 days (Monday – Friday, 9.15 – 2.30pm).
Entry Requirements:
You need to be 19 or over to enrol on the course.
You will be required to word process all written work and access Microsoft Teams, so basic computer skills and access to a PC, laptop are necessary (camera and audio are also a requirement for your full participation).
