
Construction Design and Build Technician (Apprenticeship Level 4)
Introduction:
The occupation covered by this standard is Construction Design and Build Technician and typical job titles can include: Assistant Design Co-ordinator or Design and Build Co-ordinator. In the case of SME construction companies the roles are likely to include Design Co-ordinator or Design Manager. They are associated with the co-ordination of design information on construction projects and are based on construction sites with occasional time in offices.
Entry Requirements:
GCSE maths and English grade 4.
Functional Skills:
Apprentices without Level 2 English and Maths will need to achieve these qualifications before completion of their apprenticeship. A British Sign Language (BSL) qualification is an alternative to the English qualification for those whose primary language is BSL.
Duration:
36 months.
Progression:
Project Management /Design Co-ordinator.
Funding:
Levy paying employers may fund apprentices on this programme from their Apprenticeship Account and non-levy paying SMEs through the co-funded option. There may be a small fee for some SME’s.
